Ares music downloads were known for their quick file transfer times. They were usually faster than the other music services and better. In addition, Ares remained spyware free for a very long time.
In the end, even though they claimed to be spyware free, many of the top spyware and virus detection programs would list this program as spyware if it was detected on your hard drive.
No one seems to have figured out the discrepancy between what users say, and what they detection programs have said. In either case it doesn't matter because their file sharing network is no longer active.
